Ohio is a Midwestern state in the Great Lakes region of the United States. The state shares influences from New England, the Middle States, Appalachia and the upper South.

The capital of, and largest city in, Ohio, is Columbus. Other important cities in Ohio include Akron, Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Falls, Dayton, Elyria, Hamilton, Kettering, Lakewood, Lorain, Mansfield, Mentor, Middletown, Parma, Springfield, Toledo and Youngstown.
