Wyoming

Wyoming is a state in the western United States. The eastern part of the state is part of the Great Plains, whereas the West is a combination of mountains and rangelands.

The climate of Wyoming is very arid - on average, the state receives less than 10 inches (25 centimeters) of rain per year. This makes the land unsuitable for farming, although cattle and sheep ranching is widespread. The other main economic activities in the state are mining and resource extraction, and of course tourism.

Wyoming has a relative small population (around half a million). The state capital and largest city in Wyoming is Cheyenne, with a population of just over 55,000. Other towns and cities in Wyoming include Casper and Laramie.

Wyoming is of course principally known to outsiders for its wilderness areas, and natural landscapes, including of course, Devils Tower and Yellowstone National Park. However, there are also some other tourist attractions in Wyoming such as the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, and Ripley's Believe It or Not! in Jackson Hole.

The main airport in Wyoming is Cheyenne Regional Airport which is in Cheyenne.
