Utica

Utica is a city in Oneida County, New York. As of the 2000 census, its population was 60,651.

Utica was founded in 1773 on the site of a former fort, Fort Schuyler, which had been built in 1758 but abandoned after the French and Indian War (1754 to 1763). However, the original settlement was destroyed by loyalists supported by Native Americans during the American Revolution.
