Cupertino

Cupertino is a city in Santa Clara County, California. As of the 2000 census, its population was 50,546.

The area was explored by the Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza. His cartographer, named a local creek, Arroyo San José de Cupertino in honor of Saint Joseph of Cupertino, The creek is still present, although today it is known as "Stevens Creek", however the name "Cupertino" is of course now used for the city.
