Chinatown
Chinatown in
San Francisco, California,
is the oldest, and one of the largest, Chinatown's in North
America, and attractions more tourists than the
Golden Gate Bridge.
The area includes many shops, restaurants and businesses.
Particularly noteable is St. Mary's Park,
which includes a
statue of Sun Yat-Sen, a war memorial
for Chinese veterans, and many shops and restaurants orientated
towards tourists. Another important location is
Portsmouth Square, which is a popular location
for Tai Chi and Chinese Chess,
as well as containing a bronze replica of the Goddess of Democracy
used in the Tiananmen Square protest.
