Old State House
Located in
Little Rock,
Arkansas, the Old State House is
the oldest survinv state capitol building West of the Mississippi River.
It was constructed between 1833 and 1842 in a Greek Revival style.
A new state capitol was constructed in
1912.
In the following years, the Old State House was then used for several purposes
including as a medical school, a government office, and a meeting place.
In
1947,
it became a museum.
The museum entrance was the site of
Bill Clinton's
presidential campaign announcement,
and also the site of his election night celebrations in both his runs
for the White House.
