Pentagon
The Pentagon in
Arlington, Virginia (although its mailing address is Washington D.C.)
is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense and
one of the world's largest and most distinctive office buildings in the world.
In 1976,
as part of the US Bicenntennial, the Pentagon began offering guided tours.
However these were suspended following the
September 11th
attacks in
2001,
and tours are now only available on a pre-arranged basis (check their web site for
details).
