BeavertonBeaverton is a city in Washington County, Oregon about 7 miles (11 kilometers) to the West of Portland. According to legend, the city got is name because of its proximity to bodies of waters formed as a result of beaver dams. As of the 2000 census, the city's population was 76,129, but it has been growing fast since then, and as of 2006, the population was an estimated 84,270. Furthermore, the city plans to annex some of the surrounding areas over the next few years, and if those plans go ahead, Beaverton will become the 2nd largest city in the state after Portland.
