Eureka Springs
Eureka Springs in a town in the Ozark Mountains in Northwest
Arkansas.
The population was 2,278 as of the 2000 census.
In
1964,
the controversial Minister Gerald L. K. Smith began construction of a religious theme
park in the town. Although the park was never fully completed, in 1966
the centerpiece,
the
Christ of the Ozarks
statue, was completed in
1966,
and overlooks the town from Magnetic Mountain.
