Located in Anchorage,
Alaska, and owned and operated by
the State of Alaska, Department of Fish and Game, the
Elmendorf State Hatchery produces chinook salmon (kings) and rainbow
trout for Alaskan sport fisheries.
Adjacent to the hatchery is a viewing area, where king salmon can
be seen from late May through July, and coho salmon from August
through mid-September.
